D arrived at the ER early with a small bowel obstruction. He was admitted shortly after, but remained in the ER for 2 ½ days. Igrine was his day nurse for 2 ½ days on the 2nd floor. She was attentive to his call lights even though they were understaffed. She checked on his NG tube, kept his IVs going.

D appreciated it when Igrine double-checked on a piggyback IV for something… when his labs said he was in range. I’m not sure whether D got the piggyback IV bag or not, but I know he was impressed that Igrine double checked. Igrine removed D’s NG tube with little fanfare. He was dreading it (after 3 attempts to insert it). D trusted Igrine, and she removed it smoothly like a pro. She brought me a cup of ice water. I’m a type 2 diabetic and always thirsty. D noticed her compassion there. Igrine also handled his discharge. I hope you honor this very helpful employee.

Thank you, Igrine, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
