Ilaria Medda, BSc
Story 1:
Ilaria is truly exceptional and one of those rare people who make a lasting difference in someone’s life. She made me feel cared for not only as a patient but as a person, showing genuine compassion, kindness, and humanity throughout my care.
She consistently went above and beyond to support me in a holistic way. When I shared that I am neurodivergent, Ilaria thoughtfully adapted her approach to meet my needs with understanding and sensitivity. While helping me with pelvic health concerns, she also took the time to support my mental wellbeing, personally liaising with the relevant team and helping me access further care.
Nothing ever felt rushed. Ilaria was thorough, patient, and always ensured my care was tailored in a way that worked for me. Her professionalism, empathy, and dedication are truly outstanding. She is remarkable at what she does, and her patient care is second to none. She is profoundly deserving of recognition.
Story 2:
Ilaria is an angel on earth. She was one of the only people whom I felt truly cared about me not only as a patient but as a person. Ilaria provided care that was not specifically part of her role and made sure I was looked after as a whole.
When I told her I had additional needs due to being neurodivergent, she assisted me in the ways I needed continuously throughout my care. I saw Ilaria for pelvic health issues, but when I expressed to her my mental health struggles, she went out of her way to contact the relevant team and assisted me in making a referral.
I had struggled with doing this myself, and she took it upon herself to talk with the team personally about my case. She also didn’t rush me in my pelvic health care. She was very thorough in her care and adjusted things so that they worked for me.
My entire experience with Queen Charlotte's was incredibly disappointing, but I would use the hospital again for Ilaria alone. She is incredible at her job, and her patient care is second to none.
