Imelda is an angel, my son adored her, and anyone who has her as a nurse is in the best hands.
My 7-month-old son was in the PICU for 5 days, and we had the pleasure of having Imelda Sicat as his night nurse for 3. I can confidently say that Imelda is an outstanding example of what professional nursing practice should be - compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough, gentle, personable, and overall just a bright light during a difficult time in my family’s life. I wish there was a big moment I could share, but Imelda was just extraordinary overall.

It was obvious how well she worked and communicated with others on the floor. We truly felt our son was safe under her care, and that is all you can ask for as a parent. Mostly, I am appreciative of the little things she did for us during our time in the PICU. The things that a nurse technically doesn’t have to do are always the moments that stand out the most because they are doing it from the goodness of their heart. Something as simple as taking the time to bathe our son each night, singing him songs, and making sure he was as comfortable as he could be in the hospital.

Imelda didn’t just take care of our son; she supported my husband and me, too. There was never anything we needed or had to ask for because she already had it covered before we even could. Even when we were finally downgraded from PICU to the pediatric floor during the day, she came back in that night and found the time to come check on us, which speaks to the fact that she truly cares about her patients and the work she is doing. There is nothing I can do to show how truly grateful I am for the care she provided for us during our stay. Imelda is an angel, my son adored her, and anyone who has her as a nurse is in the best hands.
