India was our nurse for my mom who came in at end-stage gastrointestinal cancer. Even though she was new to the hospital, she jumped right in with confidence, care, and compassion. I felt comfortable going to her to process my belief that my mom was ready for palliative care. She listened and responded with information about that path. When my mom entered hospice, she walked my sister, dad, and me through our last hours with my mom with insight, skill, and compassion. She gave us practical ways to comfort my mom beyond what we knew to do.
