I am honored to nominate our incredible Infection Prevention Team—Angie, Marissa, Ani, and Cathy—for the Team DAISY Award. This group exemplifies what it means to be compassionate, collaborative, and truly patient-centered.
They work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that every patient in our hospital receives the safest, highest-quality care possible. Their dedication goes far beyond monitoring infection data—they are teachers, partners, and true advocates for excellence. They collaborate seamlessly with nursing teams across every unit, educating staff on best practices and empowering us to elevate our care delivery.
What makes this team truly exceptional is their approach. They never lead with blame or assumptions; instead, they seek to understand the why behind challenges and help teams find solutions together. Their professionalism and respect for every role in the care continuum set the tone for an open, trusting partnership across the organization.
Because of their leadership, engagement, and commitment to continuous improvement, our hospital has gone an entire year without a CLABSI infection—an achievement that speaks volumes about their impact; it's from their desire to learn why fallouts are happening and partner with other departments to mitigate those and achieve excellence.
I have never met a team more invested in working side by side with nurses, providers, and leaders to make care delivery even better. They are a phenomenal group whose expertise and collaboration inspire everyone they work with. I cannot imagine a better Infection Prevention team—not just within HCA, but anywhere.
This team embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award through their compassion, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to patient safety and quality care.
