I would like to nominate the 7D staff for the DAISY Team Award. This close-knit group of staff works together every day to provide excellent outcomes to patients who are experiencing mental health concerns. These staff members care for a unique group of especially vulnerable teens and adolescents. The 7D team ensures that they provide safe, age-appropriate, trauma-informed, respectful care to every patient who comes to their unit, regardless of diagnosis. 7D is a new unit that was built from the ground up, and these staff members have risen to the challenges they have faced with passion and resilience.

The 7D teamwork is wonderful to observe- the staff support one another, check in on one another, hold one another accountable, and work to professionally develop one another to continue to provide excellent care while maintaining high morale and high standards. This group is kind to one another. They respect one another. They encourage one another. They appreciate one another. They work hard for one another, their patients, and the families they support. The dynamic is harmonious amongst all roles- RNs, MH coaches, social work, mental health techs, and providers value one another and it’s evident in the care they provide.

This group has had a long year with many struggles along the way that they have learned and grown from. I am proud and honored to watch them continue to flourish and to be able to nominate them for this award.
