I am nominating Interior Holmes because she never stops giving. She is vital to the functioning of our unit. This past weekend, we had three extremely critical infants born at our facility. She was working all three nights and handled the situation with great poise. No mother expects to have a critically ill baby and having a nurse who delivers such quality care can make or break her experience. She definitely has an innate ability to empathize with patients and their family.
What I have not told you is that she was only scheduled for two of the three nights, but she signed up extra because she is completely dedicated to her work. Her flexibility was obvious when she had to take a different course of action. Duty called and she came running with open arms even though it meant having a huge patient load. She is a great mentor to all of the staff and constantly displays extensive leadership through her work. For all of these reasons and many more, she deserves to be recognized for her dedication to our tiny miracles.
