Iren King, LPN

Iren King was born to be a nurse! The manner in which he does his job is not what is taught in nursing school. He goes above and beyond to be an exceptional nurse. In the few days of knowing him, he not only demonstrates the highest level of clinical competence and professionalism, but also a deep sense of genuine concern, care, and empathy. Under his care, I always knew I was in the best of hands. I can think of countless examples to share with you from his constantly checking in on my husband, making sure his needs were also being met.

One example of Iren's innate ability to help and empathize with others was when Iren took time out of his day to sit with me on the sofa in my room and ask me what was bothering me. This brought a smile to my husband's face because he was so impressed that Iren recognized something was upsetting me while only knowing me for a few hours. To my surprise, I confided in him that my mother had recently passed away and I was missing her at that moment. I had no intent to share this information with anyone at the hospital, but Iren had astutely seen my pain even though I was not crying and trying to hide it, and his genuine concern made him easy to talk to. Of course, Iren expressed his condolences and offered comforting words. I immediately felt better.
