My friend had acute pain and was under anxiety before the surgery. Being a family friend, I was also in fear of surgery results. During these stressful moments, our nurse, Irene Abdo, came into the room with a smiling face. Our anxiety and stress reduced to almost zero. Her excellence with soft action and compassionate care to the patient impressed me the most. Our seriousness changed into cheer and joy. My mind whispered that she has a healing heart. During our spiritual conversation, she gave courage, comfort and confidence.
Next day after work, she came to see my friend with her encouraging voice and same smiling face. In two days, she demonstrated her integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence. It is difficult to express the heartfelt feeling by words or to reward an angel/person like her, an extraordinary RN with true qualities of a nurse.
When I saw the sign - Nominate a Nurse, my mind moved and heart hustled to nominate her as a deserving recipient of The DAISY Award. God Bless her.
