It is hard to pinpoint one incident that make Irene Fernandez the perfect recipient of The DAISY Award. We received over 25 nomination forms for Irene all stating the same thing. Irene is that nurse that comes to the aid of any coworker. If something needs to be done, most times you do not even need to ask, she sees it and is there to assist. She is dependable, trustworthy, and competent.

But most importantly, she is there for her patients. She listens and makes every effort to keep them comfortable and knowledgeable about their progress in recovery. She has such a kind spirit that it can sometimes be contagious on the unit. From the moment she introduces herself, you know that you are in good hands.
