Irene is an amazing nurse, and a caring, compassionate human being. I am so impressed with her care and concern for our son! Irene spoke with us about our son in such a way that it was as though she was a part of our family and was just as concerned about our son as we were. She is so knowledgeable and told us the hard to swallow truth, but made it easy to swallow. We are very impressed withthe entire staff here at LAC+UC, but Irene stoodout!

Irene started working with the county 32 years ago as a clerk, and moved on to become a Registered Nurse in 1999. Since then, she has dedicated her nursing career to working with burn patients. It takes a special kind of nurse to care for burn patients: one that is an expert, full of compassion, and most of all, can guide patients through their most difficult times. Irene is a shining star, having shown dedication and expertise to her critically ill patients. She is known to be meticulous in her care, from her dressing changes to being a preceptor to her fellow nurses. Irene is always willing to help. Congratulations Irene, you deserve this honor.
