The patient's wife may have made the ultimate compliment to Iris Dennis, her husband's nurse. "It was actually a pleasure to be in (the) hospital," she said.
Iris was a primary reason for that, as the patient's wife made clear in her nomination of Iris for the DAISY Award. "Iris is the most caring, thoughtful, considerate, and loving nurse I have had the pleasure of knowing.
"She was so friendly to our boys. She answered any questions and took time to give us the information we were seeking. I never had to ask her anything twice.
"If anyone deserves this award, it would surely be Iris. She is the very best in every way. We will never forget her and her caring ways."
