PIH Health Physicians recently announced their first DAISY Award winner. Isabel Torres LVN of PIH Health Bloomfield Medical Office Building was recognized for going above and beyond to care for patients. Isabel works in endocrinology where she encourages diabetic patients to comply with diet and exercise. She gains their trust and helps them feel comfortable with their health team.

“I can honestly say that many of my diabetic patients would not have achieved their health goals without Isabel’s instrumental health. She is a great educator and coach for patients,” said a physician. Isabel took the initiative to find necessary medication and medical equipment for a patient when he was struggling to find coverage. Without her help, this patient would’ve continued to experience poor glycemic control. “Isabel is by far one of the best and most dedicated nurses I have worked with in my twenty years,” expressed the physician. With Isabel’s help, many of our patients have taken control of diabetic health.
