I had surgery and when I was transported to my Short Stay room, I was warmly treated and professionally cared for by my nurse, Isabel. From that first moment, she was my cheerleader and my caring, compassionate friend. Isabel assured me that everything was going to be all right. She exuded genuine care, thoughtfulness, and professionalism throughout my stay. It seemed as though she was checking on me every 15 minutes – she was so attentive. She made me a cup of coffee, which I had requested since I was developing a caffeine withdrawal headache. When my IV hurt, she slowed it down, which eliminated the pain. She reassured me, like a friend, that everything would be okay. That was especially helpful since the block I received in surgery had not worn off, so I couldn’t feel my leg and, therefore, couldn’t walk. Isabel’s above and beyond sweet kindness extended to me, especially in this time of COVID restrictions and not being able to have a loved one with me, was so appreciated. She was so caring and attentive that I felt like I wasn’t alone. I very much appreciate Isabel!

I was in the Short Stay unit recovering from a partial knee replacement. Isabel was so helpful and patient. I was also impressed with how knowledgeable she was, and it was obvious she is very experienced at her job. I know she was busy but always had time for me. She is a lovely nurse and person.
