June 2026 Honoree
Isabella Pinnero, BSN, RN
Isabella Pinnero, BSN, RN, a Monmouth Medical Center Labor and Delivery nurse who was praised for her clinical expertise, steadiness, strength, and heart, has been honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, endorsed by The DAISY Foundation.
Isabella was nominated for the DAISY Award by the family member of a laboring patient who shared:
"Words feel insufficient to capture the depth of gratitude my family carries for Isabella’s presence during one of the most vulnerable and powerful moments of my life. From the moment she walked into the room, she brought not only clinical expertise, but steadiness, strength, and heart. She did not simply perform her role—she elevated the entire birth experience through her skill, intuition, and unwavering compassion. She is nursing. She is what good nursing is all about.
Labor and Delivery is an environment that demands precision, vigilance, and rapid clinical judgment. Nurse Isabella demonstrated exceptional competence in every aspect of care. She monitored carefully, anticipated needs before they were spoken, and communicated clearly and confidently through every stage of labor. Her ability to remain calm under pressure created an atmosphere of safety and trust. In moments that could have felt overwhelming, her steady voice and reassuring presence grounded everyone in the room. We never once doubted that both mother and baby were in the very best hands. She gave Mom confidence. She gave strength when Mom couldn’t. As a nurse myself, this level of skill is rare and scarce.
What makes Nurse Isabella truly remarkable, however, is the depth of her humanity. She saw my family member not as a patient on a monitor, but as a woman bringing life into the world. She honored her voice, protected her dignity, and advocated fiercely when it mattered most. During the hardest contractions, she offered strength. During moments of uncertainty, she offered reassurance. During triumph, she celebrated alongside us. She carried both clinical excellence and emotional intelligence in perfect balance—something that cannot be taught, only embodied. Something textbooks cannot teach, but only a true nursing heart can emulate.
After delivery, her attentiveness never wavered. She ensured a safe transition into the postpartum period, supported immediate bonding, and provided thoughtful, compassionate education without ever making us feel rushed. Even at the end of what we know must have been a long shift, she remained fully present. That level of dedication speaks to a calling, not just a profession.
Nurses like her are the quiet foundation of maternal care, and her impact on my family will last far beyond my hospital stay. While this letter is foremost an expression of profound gratitude, I also believe Nurse Isabella exemplifies the spirit of what programs such as the DAISY Award are designed to honor. Her clinical excellence, advocacy, and compassionate presence reflect the very highest standards of nursing practice. I hope this commendation contributes to recognizing the immeasurable value she brings to your Labor and Delivery team. My family will forever be grateful for the strength, safety, and dignity she provided during such a life-changing moment."
