As G’s night shift nurse, you were her guardian angel during the time of day that is most frightening and lonely for a patient. You seemed to be at her side whenever I called in the early hours and were as much a support for me as you were for my wife. Every one of my questions was answered and I remain impressed with your knowledge and confident explanations when I struggled with her complicated medical issues. Every time I felt most hopeless, you provided the reassurance I needed to get some sleep myself and remain strong for G. I don’t know if you are familiar with the lady and the lamp? That is how soldiers would refer to Florence nightingale when she made her rounds in the dark hospitals on the battlefields. Your kindness, dedication, and compassion during those evenings with G, follow in her footsteps. Thank you Isatu, from the bottom of our hearts. You certainly give new meaning to the term essential personnel.
