My cancer diagnosis was new when Ivy started her shifts with us. She showed kindness and compassion throughout her shifts. She quietly did what she needed to do when she could sense we were upset or sharing a moment with a family member. Then through the night, she would gently ask questions to help manage the pain most efficiently.

In addition to being respectful of our sad moments, she would laugh with us in lighter moments. A few months ago Ivy was on the floor and taking care of another family member who had suffered a terrible injury that later ended her life. Ivy showed the same attentive, compassionate care to the patient and her large family. Through these tough times with COVID, it is such a blessing that talented, caring people like Ivy decide to continue and excel in a challenging job.
