Karen is a true compassionate advocate for all our patients. Karen has assisted and supported me in providing care to some of my most challenging patients. One challenging patient that Karen helped help me to manage care, overcome challenges, and make sure his needs were met, was Mr. S.
Mr. S. is an elderly gentleman diagnosed with a rare cancer that causes tumors to grow on the top of his head. His wife has dementia and is unable to care for him. They have no family near-by. Compounding these problems is that they are on a fixed income with very little extra money to pay for supplies and medical care. The oncologist and surgeon who had worked with him stepped out and would no longer provide home health orders. Karen was able to get him into the wound care clinic and have them follow him so that he could continue with very much needed home health care services. She always has gone above and beyond, showing extraordinary compassion care for all our patients and families. Thank you Karen for all you do for our team members, patients, and families!
