July 2023 Honoree
Ja-Cobi Ewing, MSN, RN
Ja-Cobi went above and beyond during my delivery experience. Going into labor, I knew it would be difficult physically and mentally. My labor was long and wasn’t progressing well, but Jacobi advocated for interventions to help move it along. Jacobi was transparent throughout the night of what was going on with anesthesia so I could make an informed decision on when I would like to receive my epidural which helped make me feel comfortable in the care I was receiving. While labor was long, Jacobi stayed in my room, and we formed a bond like no other. We talked about her son, our lives outside of work, and everything in between. This ultimately kept my mind off the pain and helped move the night along. When it was time to deliver, Jacobi became the cheerleader I didn’t know I needed. I will never forget the emotional, physical, and spiritual support she provided during this bittersweet time. I cannot thank her enough for being a part of our birth story, as she treated both of our daughters as her own.
Thank you, Ja-Cobi, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
