Jacey Schnappauf, RN

I am in the hospital quite a bit, and during my most recent visit, I was very wound up and concerned that my hospitalist would be sending me home before I was well enough to go. I was crying and very distraught, and asked for my assigned nurse to come in so I could talk to her. I don't know why, but Jacey walked in instead. Little did I know how much she would help me, a total stranger, just by sitting with me, listening, and making me feel seen and heard.

When I told her, “It’s okay if you need to go,” she replied, “Nope, I am here for you. None of that out there matters right now.” 

In a moment when I felt completely alone and unheard, she sat with me, listened, and even laughed with me. She helped me feel better about everything. She completely put me at ease. I think she is an amazing nurse, but most importantly, an amazing human being.
