Throughout E's 8-week hospital stay she has received exemplary care from all of the unit staff. There is one nurse who has exceeded expectations with her care and compassion toward E. Jaci has maintained E's dignity and shown so much personal respect toward her as an individual. E is verbally unresponsive. Jaci has communicated with E with each interaction she has experienced with her. We have had multiple family conferences with E's care team and Jaci has frequently been assigned to E's care on those days. After each meeting she has been available for support to the family. She consistently displays professionalism but also a balance of personal touch and empathy. With any extra time Jaci has had in her day she has made herself available to the family and extra cares for E, for example polishing her nails.
