Under her leadership, she implemented evidence-based protocols that led to a measurable reduction in medication errors and hospital-acquired infections.
CPT Jacian Joy C Oronos NC’s extraordinary dedication, clinical expertise, and leadership in both direct patient care and system-level improvement as a military ward Head nurse and Assistant Chief Nurse for Research and Quality Assurance. Throughout her service, she has embodied the core values of military nursing, service, integrity, and compassion, while also playing a pivotal role in elevating the standards of care across the ward.

As a duty nurse, she consistently provides expert care to wounded and ill service members, often going above and beyond her responsibilities. With her knowledge and skills as a Critical Care Nurse, she led the clinical response with calm precision, ensuring triage was effective, staff were coordinated, and patients received timely, life-saving interventions. In addition to her outstanding work on the floor, she has transformed our unit’s approach to quality assurance.

She has made the Military Ward a model for clinical excellence and patient safety. Moreover, her research contributions have not gone unnoticed. She recently led a study on exploring Professional Nursing Practice of pre-hospital care in the Philippine Army. Her passion for applying research to improve frontline care makes her a vital link between evidence and practice.

What sets her apart most, however, is the compassion and presence she brings to each patient encounter. She is not only a clinical leader and an advocate for excellence but also a deeply compassionate nurse who inspires everyone around her. For her commitment to care, innovation, and leadership.
