Not once did he ever express any frustration. In fact, he did everything he could to make it easier.
I had sepsis from an e coli and norovirus infection. I was violently ill with vomiting and diarrhea. It was a very bad situation. My kidneys were shutting down. My eyesight was failing. My Sp02 was in the 70s. HR in the 100s. BP in the 150s. I was in and out of consciousness. I was dying. I was admitted to the PCU where they pumped fluids and antibiotics into me as fast as possible. I had so many tubes and wires running into my body. I had to keep getting up to have diarrhea. I was setting off the bed alarm and IV occlusion alarm like every 5 minutes. My RN Jack Carlson was so patient. Not once did he ever express any frustration. In fact, he did everything he could to make it easier. He told me not to worry about the alarms or making a mess of the bed. He offered stuff I was in no condition to think of for myself. He got me depends and butt paste. He moved the commode next to my bed. He replaced the IV in my arm that blew out and put a new one in a more comfortable place. As I became more conscious, he spent time talking with me. At no time was I scared. At no time did I feel like a burden, even though I was extremely high maintenance. Thank You Jack.
