Jack L Baugh, Registered Nurse
After one week of my father-in-law struggling to breathe and refusing to seek help, I brought him to the UT Jacksonville ER. He’s a stubborn, proud man who doesn’t like to ask for help and is very hard to please. His RN, Jack, was the best. Treated him like a friend, talked about things that interested my father-in-law, and put him at ease. He explained all procedures simply.
Honestly, my father-in-law and I both thought he was going to die, like, this was it! Jack was the real lifesaver that night, in more ways than one. My father-in-law called him George, but Jack was fine with it.
I live close to Henderson and could have gone there, but I took the extra miles to come to UT Jacksonville. They are like family to me, and Jack made sure all of our needs were met. But mostly, Jack made sure that my father-in-law was not anxious, put him at ease, and treated him like family.
Our whole situation was stressful, but everyone de-escalated that stress the minute we walked in. Thanks, Jack. You are an amazing nurse. I owe you!
