Jack cared for a patient in our pre/post unit who came in for a scheduled procedure. During the pre-op questions, the mom stated that the patient had been having numerous tonic-clonic seizures. After Jack’s thorough questioning during the pre-op process, Jack felt the need to contact the neurology clinic to see if a medication change was needed for his patient. After talking to the clinic, the practitioner agreed with Jack that this situation needed urgent medication changes. Jack coordinated with the clinic to come down and see the patient in the pre/post room. Medication changes were made, and follow-up plans were discussed to help improve this patient's quality of life. Jack also discovered that this child had not been going to school due to their recurring seizures. Jack changed this child and their family's life for the better with a quick phone call. We are so lucky to have him on our team!
