Jackie is a fearless patient advocate and holds her staff to that accountability in the Trauma ACU. She does an excellent job of rounding on patients and families ensuring that their stay is as comfortable as possible. She has readily adopted the Lean methodology and is the driving force behind our metrics. Recently, she identified that more medication education was needed. She gathered a group of nurses and got input on what was needed most. The group decided that Pain Medications was the priority. To this end, she created a card with key points for the nurses to use when educating patients on narcotics. This has been quite successful.
She is a member of the Patient Experience committee. She worked with Lisa and Kim to help created a purposeful rounding audit tool that then was used hospital wide. She organizes our floor HCAPS fairs. She is working with Kim and Lisa currently to improve our patients experience by integrating other disciplines into the rounding process. She has created a script for huddles to describe our key metrics for "Rate Hospital" and will be monitoring those. She is an excellent clinician, patient/family advocate, and leader.
