I was visiting family in South Carolina with my 3 year old son when I was stung by a stingray. I had complications and required emergency surgery before returning home to Hawaii. Jackie was so kind and helpful, keeping in contact with me via email and phone to get my referral and required documents put through as quickly as possible so that I could get the care I needed. My primary care physician was out on vacation so she made sure she found another provider to sign and approve of my referral and when the insurance required modifications, she was quick to make the changes. All this is done with a 6-hour time difference and with urgency. Upon my return, after surgery and travel, she was the one to keep me calm and assured me when my suture needed to be removed because I was nervous and uncomfortable. Throughout a very stressful and overwhelming ordeal, I was so thankful that a stranger, a nurse thousands of miles away, cared enough about my well-being to be there for me in the best way she could, and none of my healing would have been possible without her. She was my angel and a blessing.
