December 2022 Honoree
Jackie Groz, BSN
After needing an emergency C-section which was my worst fear, I did not have any faith in myself. I felt the weakest I had ever felt and doubted my ability to care for my baby and heal at the same time. Jacqueline (Jackie) used her own personal experience to connect with me while restoring the faith I had lost in myself and making me feel confident. She went above and beyond when caring for me. She checked on me more than any other nurse and helped me through a sleep deprivation breakdown. No one could help me feel better except for Jackie. Even when she wasn’t working she made sure that the other nurses knew what I would need to be the most comfortable. She truly has the most caring heart out of anyone I have ever met. I can tell she loves her job and I believe she chose the best profession for her heart and personality. She is very educated and has her own personal experience with C-sections to help new mothers cope with such a traumatic event from what she has been through herself. I believed that my first baby would be my last after my experience and her telling me her story of three C-sections made me feel like I can do it myself as well. Her story and mine are very similar and made me feel a connection to her that nobody else could give me.
Thank you, Jackie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
