As a first time mom unsure of the steps in the medical process, I was anxious but excited about delivering my baby boy. Things didn't go as I imagined and I was headed to the hospital on a holiday weekend for an unscheduled C-Section. I delivered a beautiful baby boy and the 1st day was going well. By day 2 I was in severe pain and nothing was working to ease my pain. The next few days were very traumatic and not what I imagined my 1st delivery to be like. I was in pain, anxious, dizzy and so tired. I had an issue with my hemoglobin and it had dropped to the point that I needed a blood transfusion. New Years Eve night I could not get relief from my pain and my blood type was having to be transferred in. There were hours of waiting and it was finally delivered on New Year's Morning. Ms. Jackie Jackson was my nurse and she was comforting, knowledgeable and proactive but most importantly she was encouraging. That's what I needed more than anything. She offered solutions that had not been mentioned. She took the time to listen and even coached us on the small details of caring for a baby. She was my guardian angel.

When we were giving Jackie her statue from the Zimbabwe tribe she told us that she was born in Zimbabwe and was a part of this tribe that makes the beautiful sculptures and knew all about them. She was very honored to receive this award!

Thank you, Jackie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
