Our stay was especially rough as my daughter had to have a trach and put on a vent permanently. She is severally disabled and needs a lot of attention and care. She is on a lot of meds as well. All the nurses were great but one specific nurse really stood out. Jackie advocated for my daughter like no one else. She followed the book and did things per protocol. She patiently went through all my daughter’s meds with me and made all the changes right then. She was very attentive and made sure all her meds and cares were done on time (which is a difficult task with my daughter). I am very set in my ways on how I like my daughter's care to be done and I understand this can be hard for some nurses, but Jackie took it in stride and respected our wishes and home regimens while also following protocols and her nursing judgement. As a nurse myself, I know a great nurse when I see one and she was amazing! She made a bad day better and I felt more at ease knowing she was caring for my child. She was kind, patient, respectful, professional, and simply a wonderful advocate for my daughter!
