Having “visited” the ER 4 times in a month, it could become a dreaded place. But the ER in CHI St. Francis is a haven for healing! Every nurse, tech, specialist we saw was outstanding. Jackie really was the star of the team. Actually, meeting us at the door on our 4th trip. She has a masterful way of keeping the patient calm while dealing with life-and-death decisions. Her precision with IVs was greatly appreciated after having so many. Her coordination with other nurses and personnel was amazing. Any questions or concerns were immediately addressed, making us feel like we definitely chose the right hospital. Aside from medical prowess, Jackie’s sense of humor really connected with my husband and helped ease his worries, especially when being readied for his life flight to Omaha. We are hoping we don’t spend Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and day in the ER and hospital next year….. but it is so reassuring to know that Jackie and the CHI team are there for us.
