Jackie embodies the true meaning of a servant’s heart, going above and beyond the call each and every shift. Each morning she worked, we were met with a warm greeting from her, and she made a point to say goodnight after each of her shifts before leaving. She even stayed late on multiple days to ensure that this transition went smoothly. She was patient but prompt during all of her care tasks, paying close attention to ensure all our unique needs were met. She offered useful insight and genuine encouragement when challenges were encountered or our anxieties grew. During our short stay at Baptist, Jackie strove to get to know us as a person, not just as patients. She even remembered our favorite flavor of Jell-O for an after-surgery treat! All of these actions, along with many others, allowed a true sense of empathy and compassion to be established nearly immediately. Her warm heart and authentic care were a constant. We could never fully describe the difference she made during our stay. She is an invaluable asset to 1 North and the entire Baptist team.
