Upon transporting her patient to the Endoscopy department, Jackie Tanner stated she was very concerned regarding her patient and his condition. Jackie gave the RN report and told her she would check in on the patient shortly after she stabilized her other patient in SICU.

The procedure was delayed and the patient's condition continued to decline. Jackie continued calling and walking to the Endoscopy unit to check on her patient. As his condition worsened, Jackie worked diligently to enter new orders, communicate with multiple physicians, and obtain blood products to stabilize the patient for transport to Interventional Radiology.

Jackie was able to expedite care, remain calm and professional amidst the chaos, and took control of the situation effectively. The compassion, commitment, and attention to detail in caring for the patient was extraordinary and saved this patient's life.
