Jack is amazing with every child and every parent. He makes sure the friend he’s working with is comfortable.
If I had to describe Jack in three words it would be; leader; coach; friend. From my very first day, Jack has always been amazing. He has helped me not only learn, but grow in my position. He has helped me feel more comfortable and confident in everything I do. From triage to trauma I’ve learned so much from him. Every shift I work with Jack, I know I can look forward to learning something new. And he’s never afraid to teach. He validates every question you have and makes sure you understand it to the best of his ability. And if you don’t understand or don’t know how to do something, he’s the first to jump in and show you or guide you in a way to make sure you get that knowledge.
In my very first trauma with him, I got to witness firsthand how much of a leader Jack is and how well he works under high-intensity pressure. Keeping the room not only calm but working together cohesively yet, effectively. He showed exactly the characteristics of a great Trauma nurse. And then afterward, when I asked for feedback, he made sure to tell me exactly what I can improve on and what exactly I did great.
Jack is amazing with every child and every parent. He makes sure the friend he’s working with is comfortable and does his best to make it as easy as possible. I’ve seen firsthand numerous times when a friend is scared of an IV and he talks them through every second and it almost always ends positively. He remains calm, collected, and cool. His personality is contagious. He can make anyone smile even on their worst day. And he can make anyone laugh. Even on his most stressful days when he’s slammed with things, you know you can always count on Jack to make your day.
