She shows up consistently with grace, brilliance, and a humility that feels rare. Her demeanor is beautiful, her presence calming, and her intelligence undeniable, yet she never leads with ego.
Jackie Campbell, affectionately known to me as “Dr. Jaclyn Campbell”. Jackie is the kind of educator who leaves a lasting impression the moment she enters a room. Never once have I heard her say she couldn’t help. She shows up consistently with grace, brilliance, and a humility that feels rare. Her demeanor is beautiful, her presence calming, and her intelligence undeniable, yet she never leads with ego.
I once watched Jackie present complex, jaw-dropping research with such confidence and ease that I had to ask her how she could stand there so poised, so eloquent, and so humble all at the same time. She smiled and simply said, “I don’t know how to be any other way.” That response perfectly captures who she is.
Jackie is deeply respected and beloved by her peers.
She educates physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and anyone eager to learn, yet she never makes anyone feel small or intimidated. Instead, she creates an environment where learning feels safe, inspiring, and empowering. Her ability to communicate complex information with clarity and warmth consistently leaves others impressed and energized.
One moment that will always stay with me is from my interview for this role, when Jackie was sitting there as my peer. I said to her honestly, “I don’t know how I could do this role better than you, or offer you any insight.” She looked at me with such a genuine smile and said, “You will grow so beautifully, and I will help you.” And she has. Truly, I have grown so much by her side. That moment reflects exactly who Jackie is: someone who sees potential before it is fully realized and chooses mentorship over ego every time.
What has meant the most to me is that Jackie never made me feel like “just” a floor nurse. She always believed I had something meaningful to bring to the table — the same table where she sat — and treated me as a true peer long before I ever saw myself that way. I cannot imagine a better colleague, mentor, or educator.
Jackie Campbell embodies brilliance without intimidation, leadership without hierarchy, and excellence without needing recognition. She is everything an Educator of the Year should be, and her impact will continue to shape those around her for years to come.
