She shared stories that kept me engaged and distracted from being in the hospital. She truly cares about her patients, and it showed. I looked forward to seeing her every day!
Jackie was a wonderful nurse during my stay at the hospital. She came by my room to take me on walks and was attentive. When I said I had a headache for several days, she wrote notes on the board in the room about my different pain medications for other nurses to know. She gave me tips on how to take a shower in the hospital, answered my questions about my medications, and made me feel special and cared for. Jackie took wonderful care of my husband. We are on day 5 of our stay here at UCSF, and Jackie has gotten my husband up and is walking. My husband had surgery, and his blood pressure kept on going down every time he would get up. She recommended doing the Orthostatic Blood Pressure Check before sitting and standing. This was a game-changer. It gave my husband peace of mind that he was not going to pass out. She answered all of our questions and was extremely helpful. She has gone above and beyond our expectations regarding her level of care. She is amazing!

As part of my post-surgery recovery, I encountered a setback, and as a result, I fainted twice near my hospital bed, which led to a great deal of anxiety and apprehension in resuming attempts to sit up, stand, and ultimately walk. Following these fainting episodes, Jackie was coincidentally assigned to my care team. Jackie methodically, informatively, and very effectively applied orthostatic blood pressure and heart rate checks to ensure my attempts to sit, stand, and walk were safe and appropriate. Jackie provided practical explanations, suggestions, and precautions related to resuming sitting, standing, and walking activities. With Jackie's help and advice, I swiftly overcame my anxiety and achieved standing and even walking with an informed awareness and confidence to an outside terrace that offered fresh air, which was the greatest gift given my circumstances. Jackie combines a solid grasp of clinical care knowledge, post-operative care, translating clinical knowledge into layman's terms, empathizing with her patient, and delivering an immaculate level of care for her patient. Jackie is a game changer!!!
