The Rehab Department got a call from an ED Nurse, Jacob, this morning about borrowing the Rehab Department’s tub to baptize an ED patient. Shortly thereafter, Jacob and Logan came to my office to explain that one of their patients is at end of life, has no family, and asked to be baptized with full submersion “before they die”. Then, these nurses made all the arrangements by arranging for a pastor to come and perform the baptism; they transported their patient by stretcher for his baptism. The nurses carefully attended to the patient's needs during the process and cleaned him up afterward. They provided their patient a safe and respectful “final wish.”
