During one of the most difficult times in my family's life, Jacob was a pillar of strength and support for us. His exceptional care, kindness, and dedication made an immeasurable difference in our experience, and we will forever be grateful. From the moment Jacob became my father’s nurse, I knew that he was truly special. He provided not just medical care, but also emotional support, ensuring that my family and I felt informed, comforted, and respected throughout my father’s treatment. Jacob consistently treated my father as a person, not just a patient, and his compassion was evident in every interaction. His ability to use humor to lighten the mood helped ease our worries, making an incredibly challenging time just a little more bearable. What stood out most about Jacob was his attentiveness. I never had to ask for anything while he was on shift because he was always one step ahead, anticipating my father’s needs and addressing them proactively. Because of his diligence and care, I felt completely confident leaving my father in his hands, knowing that he was receiving the best possible attention. That peace of mind was invaluable to me and my family. Beyond his technical expertise, Jacob’s genuine concern for people was evident in everything he did. His kindness extended not only to my father but to my entire family, ensuring that we all felt supported and reassured. It is clear that Jacob’s dedication goes beyond his job—he truly cares about others and treats everyone with the same level of compassion and respect. Riverside is incredibly fortunate to have such a remarkable individual on their staff. Jacob embodies the very essence of nursing: skill, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to patient care. My family and I are deeply thankful for everything he has done for us, and I can think of no one more deserving of the DAISY Award. Jacob went above and beyond to make sure our family was the most comfortable and made sure to explain everything the best he could, being kind and courteous given the situation. He truly was a savior. As my family and I gathered around to pay our respects to our family member and be with him while he passed, Jacob was nothing short of compassionate and respectful. He explained every step of the process thoroughly, made us feel comfortable, and that our family member was in the best care. Jacob answered all of our questions, offered continuous support, and handled the situation with great care. Our family member was able to pass peacefully, and we were able to grieve in a safe and peaceful environment. Jacob was extremely professional, knowledgeable in patient care and family communication, and was extremely kindhearted. We were so thankful to have him as a nurse. You could tell he is in this job for the right reasons. We unfortunately lost a big part of our family yesterday & the care we received from Jacob was phenomenal. He was compassionate, resourceful, respectful, and had so much patience. He truly belongs on such a crucial unit where people are going through such sensitive and hard times. He took the time to explain things, answered all the questions, and made the unfortunate situation we were in more comfortable than most. I couldn’t have asked for a better nurse during such a hard time. Nursing is definitely his calling, and I’m thankful we had the honor to have him during this difficult time.
