When Jacob Sarvey started his shift, my mother was experiencing pain of an 11 on a 1-10 scale. I have never felt so helpless, not being able to soothe and comfort my ailing mother. She cried and begged for help because of the pain, even saying she couldn't live anymore, but the gem, Jacob Sarvey, stepped in very calm and very professional. He continued to call my mother's doctors to report my mother's condition, pain and comfort level. He was determined to see that my mother was comforted and rested.
I am grateful with all of my heart to God for putting him in place. I'm writing this while I watch my mother rest and proclaim a pain level of 2 from 11. The quality of care received from Jacob is exactly why I pass 4 hospitals and drive 1.5 hours to Vidant. I take comfort in knowing that the best is here. I know firsthand because I have never had a nurse better than Jacob. He is a gem to Vidant! I'd call him my angel literally without the wings.
To sum it up, while we were praying for God to help her, Jacob was already willing, calm, and determined to comfort my mother. To sit and watch her sleep is priceless! He has and continues as I am writing to take great care of my mother. He went the extra mile!
