Jackie was my daytime nurse. Jackie was amazing. She answered every question. She made me feel like I was the only patient she had - even though I know better. Jackie talked to my family and handled my pee - not sure which is worse. When I had a problem with a roommate's behavior and treatment of the staff, she obtained a special request and had my room transferred, so my wife didn't have to hear the grossly inappropriate things the man was saying. She brought my parents chairs when they came to visit and tracked down juice to, ah-hem, help me "go." I never had to ring my bell because she regularly checked in with me and only once (when she was at lunch) did someone have to address my IV. I have encountered many RNs in my 44 years, some caring for my children and my wife, friends, or other family - None hold a candle to the compassionate care I received from Jackie. She addressed every concern and laughed at my corny dad jokes, and I know that had she not been here today, I would not be healing as well.
