Mr. V was brought to the ED after experiencing a vehicle accident. Mr. V and his dog had been traveling and visiting relatives. After being assessed and treated, Mr. V told staff he was from Georgia and had no family in the area. The Henry County deputies had told him his truck was not drivable, had been towed and his dog was taken to the Henry County animal control. Mr. V was very upset about his dog. ED staff on each shift spoke with the patient's wife in Georgia and with his daughter in Arizona, attempting to come up with a plan for transportation home to Georgia with no success. Jacque called animal control daily to make sure his dog was ok. Days later, Jacque took the patient to where his truck was located to gather his belongings, then took him to the Henry County Animal Control to get his dog and then to Enterprise to lease a rental car to drive home. An email address was required, but Mr. V did not have one, so Jacque let him use her email address.
