I would like to take the time to recognize Jackie OR Nurse; yesterday, we had a case that, unfortunately, despite all the heroic efforts made by staff, the outcome wasn’t what we all wanted. After the case, I would like to say that I'm beyond proud of Jackie and the way she handled the patient; Jackie gave the utmost respect, was kind, and was courteous. Jackie first concern was the patient and getting her cleaned, she also washed her face, hands and most of her body. Jackie redressed bloody areas and transferred the patient to her bed with the utmost respect. We took the patient back to the room so the family could view her, and even throughout that process, Jackie walked the hall to ensure the family and hallways were cleared. It is a true pleasure working with her and seeing how she cares for every last patient and employee here.

I can tell you that the way she interacted with that patient is how she interacts with all of her patients. I have seen her sit with an anxious patient in pre-op when their surgery has been delayed – just to help calm her fears. Jackie’s compassion and empathy make her a truly exceptional nurse.
