Jacquelyn Wilridge, LPN

Jackie is one of, if not, the most frequently recognized nurses on MedSurg. She is recognized by patients and families in Nurse Leader Rounding, in discharge follow up phone calls, and patient experience surveys. Patients have even taken to social media to spread the good word about receiving care at Ochsner Acadia General because of the excellent care that Jackie provides. The comments received from patients and their families make it very clear that Jackie is committed to the tactics, like hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and discharge teaching, that we know to create, not only a positive, kind, and compassionate experience for the patients and their families but also create a high-quality environment that leads to better outcomes.

It has been said about Jackie that she was “nice, went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable while I was here… answered all my questions. Made sure I knew everything that was going on and was clear about me taking better care of myself and not waiting until the last minute to get to the hospital.”

“Miss Jacqueline on the third floor [is] very professional, caring, and knowledgeable of [her] job. At shift change [she] came into my room as well as every patients’ room and discussed ALL info pertaining to me in front of me.”

This last patient was so impressed with the kind, compassionate, and professional care provided by Jackie that he went on to say that our community “can be confident” in the care they will receive at Ochsner Acadia General. You all know how hard we are working to be a hospital that our community can trust and confidently recommend to others as a place to receive excellent care.

Here’s to Jackie for being a kind, caring, and compassionate nurse, that patients and their families recognize for doing just that. Jackie Wilridge, you are deserving of profound respect for the way you serve our patients and our community. For these reasons, we believe you are a true DAISY Nurse.
