She helped mend not only my father’s body but our hearts and spirits as well.
Our family would like to nominate Jaqui for the DAISY Award. When my father was admitted to SICU, our family was gripped with fear, concern, and confusion in the wake of his violent assault. I know this is the standard of care for many patients who enter your hospital doors. However, from the moment we met Jacqui, she helped to care for and serve our father but also our whole family as well. She was compassionate, encouraging, good-natured, and simply extra-ordinary in her tending to my father and our family in such horrific circumstances. She advocated for our needs and concerns. She showed calm discretion during a uniquely traumatic event. She brought peace and laughter to my father. She helped mend not only my father’s body but our hearts and spirits as well. Words do not do justice for our gratitude. It is with honor and enthusiasm that we nominate and urge Jaqui’s recognition. She is a remarkable nurse, human, and our family angel. Jacquilene has had multiple nominations over the past few months.
