My team would like to make you aware of what Jackie (Stephany) has done for a couple of our patients. We’ve really been struggling to keep the patient’s spirits up. She was telling us at the beginning of the week she was ready to give up and has been extremely depressed by her latest setback and lack of progress. Jackie came in today with hair dye and nail polish, colored her hair, and painted her toenails and the patient is like a new person. She also bought B a card and a present from the gift shop downstairs for his birthday week. I know it is often difficult for a nurse to have time to do these extras, but I don’t want these actions to go without recognition. Our team is extremely grateful for all of the efforts she’s made to connect with our patients, and this will certainly have a positive impact on their clinical course. This really exemplifies the compassionate care we strive for at IU Health and wanted to be sure she is recognized.
