Jade Burns, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC

Dr. Burns exemplifies the attributes in someone who deserves The DAISY Award for Nurses Advancing Health Equity, namely demonstrating exemplary clinical practice, research, and/or teaching with an emphasis on addressing social determinants of health, in her clinical practice, research, and teaching. She provides clinical care to populations who live in underserved communities, increasing her impact by developing a broad network of other practitioners, community advocates, elected officials and policy makers, and other leaders. As a researcher, Dr. Burns is committed to promoting health equity as well as improving and diversifying the profession of nursing. She is a sought-after mentor for new faculty and students. She is creating a pipeline of future nurses and faculty, approaching her teaching with a great level of skill, integrity, and foresight.
