December 2013 Honoree
jade mattern, BSN, RN CCRN
I was a patient in the CVICU for many weeks with various complications and was unable to move my leg. I suffered severe depression and anxiety due to being on the ventilator and unable to move.
Jade Mattern was so very compassionate and sincere. She was always comforting and cheery. When I started to show improvement and was ready to transfer to long-term care she was my biggest champion. Her encouragement and support gave me the willpower and strength to keep trying and never give up. It has been 11 months now and I have made great improvement. I can stand and walk again, and I no longer need assistance. I owe so much to Jade and all the staff in the Cardiac ICU. Thank you!
