I am nominating Jade Redlin for the DAISY Award because of her exceptional clinical skill, unwavering presence, and profound professionalism during one of the most frightening moments of my life.
Over the last several weeks, I have been hospitalized multiple times. During this most recent stay, I experienced an issue. In a moment filled with chaos, fear, and overwhelming uncertainty, Jade was a proud beacon of professionalism and hope. While my issue brought a crowd of people and high stress, this caregiver never left my side. Their clinical expertise was on full display as they advocated for me, secured the correct medications, and got the situation rectified quickly before any permanent damage could occur.
What set Jade apart wasn't just their fast action, but their communication. They took the time to explain everything that was happening and answered all of my questions with deep knowledge and patience. Furthermore, when the physician failed to respond to their call or visit my room, this caregiver never wavered or "went dark." They stepped up, remained completely present, and ensured I was safe, monitored, and reassured that I was going to be alright. Jade represents the very best of the nursing profession. They didn't just manage a medical crisis; they carried me through it with grace, skill, and heart.
