Once Jaime got out the many knots, she then did a beautiful braid for this sweet patient.
We received a 39-year-old patient from the ICU who we were told was non-verbal. Jaime took the time during her busy shift to wash, condition, and comb the multiple knots out of this patient's hair. The patient had brain surgery. So of course part of her head was shaved. Clearly, her head had not been a priority while she was requiring ICU care. The patient had extremely long hair. Jaime brought a leave-in conditioner to put in the patient's hair in an attempt to prevent the future need to cut out the horrific knots.
Once Jaime got out the many knots, she then did a beautiful braid for this sweet patient, so that the next time Facetime the patient had with her husband he could see her beautiful hair braided to the one side. I'm thankful for this thoughtful nurse who could have ignored the patient's need to have her hair combed through. I'm so thankful this nurse worked tirelessly to get the knots out so this patient could enjoy what was left of her hair now that it was clean. This is just one of many examples that Jaime does for her patients.
