Jaime is the perfect example of treating the whole person, not just the ailment. She provides support not just for the patient, but for the whole family. As far as nurses go, we feel that Jaime is the "whole" package.
Mom was in the hospital for a broken femur. Jaime was the most cheerful face in her life during that week. She was also so reassuring and attentive. There was not the usual wait time for getting help or answers. Jaime was able to provide multiple assistive devices to help Mom handle not just the femur problem, but also for her handicapping RA.
Months later, Mom was in the emergency room for a different problem. As I was walking down a hallway in search of coffee, I passed a nurse. We each did one those, "don't I know you" looks. She had seen Mom's name on the list and was coming down to get her. Jaime's smiling face was a bright spot in my mother's day. Mom was able to relax. The family knew she would be getting good care. Once again, the smiles, the visiting about family and with family, the care and compassion began.
The following day a UTI caused our mother's level of consciousness to change dramatically. Jaime knew right away that this was not normal for the sharp witty woman we all know as Sweet R. Jaime had tears in her eyes as we discussed the situation. Jaime's charges are not just patients. They are relationships. Jaime goes above and beyond in meeting patient needs on every level of care. We are pleased to share our story and give credit to this dedicated nurse.
